Every Aviamasters round holds exactly one number that matters, and the game displays it above the aircraft. That number is the Counter Balance, and the aviamasters counter balance mechanic is best understood as a ledger: it opens with your bet sum already sitting in it, every object the plane meets rewrites it, and the landing is the only moment when the ledger is settled into real money. Nothing in between can be collected, locked or withdrawn. That restriction is the mechanic's entire personality, and once you accept it, the rest of the game reads easily.
What the ledger is, and what it is not
The official description gives the basics in one motion: the Counter Balance starts with your bet sum and increases as the aircraft gathers multipliers. In multiplier terms the round therefore opens at x1.0, which the rules confirm as a fixed property of every round. The counter is not a separate winnings account, not a cash-out meter and not a progress bar toward a bonus. It is the payout itself, present from take-off and only re-shaped on the way to the landing.
The counter also has a second life as geometry. Positive pick-ups raise the plane's trajectory; a rocket hit knocks it downward toward the water. So the same figure carries both the potential payout and the plane's remaining safety margin. You can watch both, you can influence neither — the levers are the wager and the speed, chosen before launch. For the full event-by-event sequence from bet to landing, we laid out how the round works in the rules guide; below we focus on the number itself.
The ledger's five transactions
Every round runs the same small loop, and the rules define each step precisely. If you have not yet seen the full flight from take-off to touchdown, the sequence first appears in our guide on how the round works; the ledger below zooms into the numbers between those stops.
- Take-off: the counter equals the bet, the multiplier is x1.0.
- A number without the x sign adds to the counter: +1, +2, +5 or +10.
- A multiplier with the x sign multiplies it: x2, x3, x4 or x5.
- A rocket hit divides the counter in half and drops the trajectory.
- A carrier landing credits the counter to the balance; water zeroes everything.
There is no sixth transaction. No timers, no staged bonus mode, no paid immunity to rockets inside the first game — the only structural additions came with the sequel on March 5, 2026, and even there the rocket still cuts by half.
A euro-by-euro worked example
Let the wager be EUR 5 and let a flight unfold like this, purely as an illustration of the arithmetic.
| Transaction | Counter | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Take-off (x1.0) | EUR 5.00 | starts at the bet |
| A +5 number | EUR 10.00 | — |
| An x5 multiplier | EUR 50.00 | fires on a lifted counter |
| A rocket | EUR 25.00 | trajectory knocked down |
| A +2 number | EUR 27.00 | — |
| Carrier landing | EUR 27.00 | 5.4 times the wager |
Two points deserve attention. First, the order of transactions did real work here: the x5 fired on a counter already lifted to EUR 10, and that is what produced EUR 50; had the multiplier arrived first, the same pair would have peaked at EUR 30 and survived the rocket at EUR 15. Numbers are cheapest before a multiplier, rockets are most expensive after one, and you control none of the ordering. Second, the recovery is slower than the damage: one halving erased EUR 25, and the +2 bought back only EUR 2. That asymmetry is the mechanic in miniature.
The ceiling, the floor and the pop-ups
The specifications cap the game at x250 and EUR 250,000. Crossing the early thresholds triggers celebration screens: totals of x20, x40 and x80 flash Big, Mega and Super Mega notices. Read them as scenery rather than structure — the counter was already at those marks, and the pop-up adds nothing to the payout. The floor is equally explicit and much simpler: a water landing removes the counter and the bet together. No partial refund, no preserved portion, no ledger carry-over into the next round.
Low volatility, as declared in the specifications, lives between those two extremes. Rockets routinely shave peaks that would otherwise run to large multiples, which compresses the distribution of outcomes — the same property we described across the round in the guide.
What a ledger like this means for a session
It means the only profitable-looking question you can ask — when do I take the money? — has no answer inside the game, because the game has no action point. Everything selectable happens before the counter exists: the stake, the pace, the autopilot stop rules. If the term itself is new to you and the frame around it feels alien, our FAQ answers what is Aviamasters at a friendlier altitude, while this page stays on the number.
It also means the counter is a terrible thing to anchor on mid-flight. Watching EUR 50 in the middle of a round does not make EUR 50 yours; one rocket demonstrates how cheaply that number can be revised. The psychological upgrade that actually pays off is treating every mid-air figure as temporary and every budget decision as already made.
And the honest close: a ledger that starts at your bet and ends at the landing does not change the house side of the equation. With a declared 97% return, the long-run expectation on turnover stays negative for the player, and the halving mechanism is part of how that 97% is structured, not an obstacle to it. Play the round for the flight, size the wager for the loss you are prepared to record, and let the ledger do its bookkeeping on landing.
