In the first game of the family the flight path was a spectator sport: you watched random symbols add up to a number, and nothing you did changed the flight itself. The sequel puts four objects on that path which intervene directly — pull, shoot down, accelerate, rescue. They are called boosters, and they are the main reason a round of Aviamasters 2 feels like a different game. The breakdown below sticks to BGaming's official wording and turns to reviewer observations only where the provider prints no numbers. If you are still sizing up the release, our sequel overview supplies the frame this guide fits into.

What boosters are and where they come from

The official page states the premise in telegraph style: boosters can be collected mid-flight, on any round.

Read plainly: a booster is a symbol on the flight path that the plane can collect like any multiplier token — with one difference. A multiplier changes the number on the counter; a booster changes the flight itself. Collect one and its rule activates, either for the rest of the round or at a specific moment, depending on which symbol it was. Miss it, and you are playing the first game's mechanics with all of their rockets and water endings intact.

There are four rulesets, and each answers a specific pain the family has carried since 2024: rockets slicing the balance, water burning the round, and a final landing that stays a lottery of precision.

Booster What it does Which risk it covers
Magnet pulls nearby multipliers toward the plane; anchors the plane to the island in the tail a loss to the water instead of a landing
Laser Gun shoots down the rockets standing on the path balance halvings from rockets
Nitro moves the plane faster; rockets do not count against it on the active stretch rockets on the booster stretch
Life Buoy the plane returns to flight after a water plop water as the end of the round

Magnet: the plane magnetizes, not just the coins

Magnet's official description covers two jobs. The visible one: nearby multipliers on the path get pulled toward the plane, so you collect more of what would otherwise fly by. The second one is stated just as baldly and is worth more: the booster "can prevent a loss by magnetizing the plane to the island". In the tail of the trajectory, Magnet works as an anchor — instead of a helpless splash, the plane reaches the landing zone.

The reading: Magnet strengthens both ends of the round at once. The upside case gets heavier (more collected symbols, fatter Counter Balance), and the downside case gets rarer (a better chance of touching the finish). Reviewers' demo runs put it among the more frequently seen useful pickups, at roughly a fifth of flights — an observational figure, not an official one, but the order of magnitude matters more than its decimals.

Laser Gun, Nitro, Life Buoy: three answers to rockets and water

Laser Gun is the direct reply to rockets: the booster shoots down whatever stands in the way. The rules page phrases it as clearing rocket obstacles along the route. For statistics, this means something the first game never had: some of those balance-halvings can now be cancelled in advance, before the counter absorbs them.

Nitro is about pace and invulnerability. The plane moves faster, and for the stretch while the booster is active, rockets simply do not count against it — the rules describe forward movement that bypasses them. A side effect players notice: tempo. Rounds run quicker under Nitro, and if you usually ride the slowest speeds for control, the sudden acceleration feels like a second bonus on top of the immunity.

Life Buoy is the second chance after water: officially, the plane "bounces back from a potential water plop". Practically, it is the most straightforward anti-risk item in the list — landing in the water stops being the end of the round, the plane returns to flight and can still reach the island. For anyone who learned the first game, where water meant an unconditional zero, this is the most visible rule change in the family's history.

The skeleton of the round did not move

Worth listing what boosters do not do. The additive +1, +2, +5, +10 tokens and the multipliers ×2, ×3, ×4, ×5 sit on the path exactly as they did in the first game; rockets cut the Counter Balance in half exactly as they did; the round starts at ×1.0 and ends at an island landing or in the water. Boosters add to the collecting mechanic — they do not replace it. And the declared RTP of 97.00% with the hit rate of 2.50 remains untouched: no booster occupies a line in the official math sheet. These are tools that reshape the distribution, not new layers of the core.

Worked example: a booster rewriting an outcome

Take one round apart. Stake placed, flight starts at ×1.0, three ×2 multiplier tokens sit ahead with gaps between them — the counter heads toward ×8. Two rockets wait behind those tokens, and each one halves whatever has accumulated by its moment. Without boosters, the honest outcome band runs from "×2 after two halvings" to "×8 on the landing", and a single second decides which end you get.

Now the same route with events attached. Laser Gun removes the first rocket on approach — the halving is cancelled, the counter never resets at a moment you did not choose. Nitro carries the plane through the second zone; immunity closes the question outright. Magnet in the tail pulls in a final ×2 that would have slipped past the wing. Result: three decisive seconds rewritten, counter lands at ×16 with no cuts taken. Boosters guarantee none of this on any given round — the design promises no such thing — but those three intervals are precisely where the eventfulness lives, which the first game could not offer.

How boosts shape the math — and how they don't

Formally: the 97.00% RTP is declared for the game as a whole, and no BGaming card allocates a separate share to boosters. Reviewer observations converge on the same shape: boosters redistribute outcomes, trimming the left tail (water, double-rocket rounds), nudging the middle up (more collected symbols), and leaving the declaration intact. In demo samples, at least one booster shows up in roughly a quarter to a third of rounds, and the full set of four is a rarity measured in low single-digit percents. Both figures are demo estimates, unofficial — treat them as terrain, not as a table.

The practical conclusion, which we compute properly in the piece on how boosts shape the math: chasing boosters "to reach ×500" rests on no official number at all. A booster improves the shape of the round you are in; it does not improve your long-run percentage. Keep both layers in mind — the eventfulness is real, the edge is not.
